New deadlines for the inclusion of Internet speeds in subscriber contracts, in compliance with the Greek Open Internet Regulation

16/7/2020

EETT announces new deadlines for the inclusion of Internet speeds in subscriber contracts, in
compliance with the Greek Open Internet Regulation (EETT Decision 876/7B/17-12-2018):

  • Until 25th November 2020, for fixed networks,
  • Until 1st March 2021, for mobile networks.

The new extension (the previous deadline was 5th October 2020, for both fixed and mobile
networks) was granted in order to manage the delays in the implementation of the various parts of
the project, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the public health measures for its
containment.

It is reminded that, according to the provisions of the Greek Open Internet Regulation, ISPs in
Greece must provide realistically expected Internet connection speeds in subscriber contracts, and
commit towards the subscriber for the minimum speed in fixed networks, and for the maximum speed in
mobile networks.

The document of the new EETT Decision (in Greek) is available
