Review of Frequency Bands for the Deployment of 5G Networks

Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) issues the Technical Announcement
entitled “Review of Frequency Bands for the Deployment of 5G Networks” aiming to inform all
interested parties (incumbent and new providers of electronic communication networks, equipment
manufacturers, radio-spectrum users in general, verticals) with respect to the radio frequency
bands that are currently under review by EETT and are expected to be used for the deployment of
fifth generation (5G) wireless broadband networks in the near future, taking also into
consideration the relevant developments at a European level.

This initiative follows other relevant actions that contribute to the timely preparation of
Greece for the deployment of 5G networks such as the establishment of a regulatory framework for
trial licenses of 5G networks, as well as recent public consultations for MFCN bands (3.6 GHz, 1500
MHz) and the harmonized technical conditions for IoT spectrum in existing MFCN bands.
