EETT encourages postal companies to invest in environmental friendly technologies

EETT, in the context of its enhanced jurisdiction based on the current legal framework and in
an effort to promote the competitive growth of the Greek postal market, encourages business
investment in clean and environmental friendly technologies.
Specifically, EETT’s Regulation for the provision of postal services under General
Authorization or Individual Licence predicts that investment capital spent on environmental
friendly technologies may be deducted from the gross income declared to the Authority, eventually
reducing in proportion the annual reciprocal charges.
This measure, following a decision taken by EETT’s Plenary, has already begun to benefit a
large courier company that made investments for the introduction of liquid gas fuel systems in 61
of its trucks that were formerly gasoline fuelled.
